This medication is typically prescribed for:

• Differentiated thyroid cancer that has progressed and is not responsive to radioactive iodine treatment.
• Advanced liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma).
• Advanced kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma), often used in combination with other medications.
• Advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, used in combination with another drug.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include fatigue, high blood pressure, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and nausea.

Serious Side Effects

Lenvatinib can cause serious side effects, and it is important to contact a healthcare provider immediately if any of the following occur:

• Severe headache, seizures, confusion, or changes in vision, which could be signs of a brain condition called posterior reversible leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS).
• Signs of heart problems, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling in the ankles.
• Bleeding problems, including severe nosebleeds, bloody vomit, or black, tarry stools.
• Liver or kidney problems, which may be indicated by yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, or light-colored stools.

Important Precautions

• Lenvatinib may cause high blood pressure, so it should be monitored regularly.
• It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and effective birth control should be used during treatment and for at least 30 days after the last dose.
• Dental and surgical procedures should be discussed with a doctor, as the medication can affect wound healing and may cause severe jawbone problems.
