Ocrelizumab is used to treat certain forms of multiple sclerosis (A Potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In MS , the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body.). It is not a cure for MS, but it is thought to help slow down nerve damage, reduce the number of relapses, and delay disability. Ocrelizumab belongs to a class of drugs known as monoclonal antibodies.

- Medical Use: Ocrevus is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) and primary progressive MS. It targets a type of immune cell called the CD20-positive B cell, which is thought to be a key contributor to nerve damage in MS.
- Dosage and Administration: The medication is administered as a twice-yearly dose. The initial dose is given as two separate intravenous infusions of 300 mg, two weeks apart. Subsequent doses are single 600 mg infusions given every six months. A subcutaneous injection formulation is also available.
- Side Effects: Common side effects include infusion or injection reactions, as well as upper and lower respiratory tract infections. More serious potential side effects include an increased risk of certain cancers (such as breast cancer), rare but serious brain infections like Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML), and reactivation of the Hepatitis B virus.
