Uses

Rhophylac 300 is primarily used in two main situations:
  • RhD-negative women with an Rh-incompatible pregnancy: It is administered to prevent the development of antibodies in the mother's blood, which could harm an RhD-positive fetus in the current or subsequent pregnancies.
  • RhD-negative individuals who have received an incompatible transfusion of RhD-positive blood or blood products: It helps to suppress the immune response and prevent the production of antibodies against the RhD factor.
It is also used for the treatment of chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) in RhD-positive patients.

Important Considerations:

  • Administration: It is administered by a doctor or healthcare professional either intravenously or intramuscularly.
  • Safety: The medication is made from human blood plasma, and measures are taken to reduce the risk of transmitting infectious agents.
  • Side Effects: Common side effects can include pain and tenderness at the injection site, headache, and skin reactions. Rare but more serious reactions like anaphylactic shock are possible.
